The toughest cache I've ever done! (Actually the only TRUE 5/5 cache I've ever done, so far)

 | T'was a purty morn to be lookin' fer treasure. Some of me crew sailed to the spot and ther began to search high and low. One of the little scaliwags found the hidden gold! Arrrgh! Another victry for Team Smallville.
We be leavin' a rare button with our names engraved.
The lad took a ferocious lizard.
Be ye warned, this tunnel ain't for the weak of stamina. Twas long and dark, who knows what might be lurkin in the depths. | |
This lil adventure was part 1 of our Coin Quest! Those scurvy CachUNuts have hid a large, valuable treasure for those bold enough to venture forth. We be bold enough! |

This cache is placed in the opening to a tunnel that runs under a road - which qualifies it as a hole in the ground as much as a mine tunnel. It's just a bit smaller.

While out finding the pup one, I was told of this creepy cache "Twelve Creepy Grottos" Thes are caves of sorts, in a cemetary. DArn... can't use one cache for 2 finds. Oh well. This hunt has drawn me to caches i probably would not have gone out and done. THANKS!

Tonight was perfect for a night cache! The sky was clear, the air was calm & unseasonable warm and the moon lit the way to the cache.
I couldn't get a photo of anyone in the cave because the bottom of it was covered in sea muck several inches deep. A clever trap set by the pirates to keep would-be treasure hunters away from the loot inside? |

This cache is in an area where there are lots of caves around. It is the Arbuckle Mountains and this cache is at the Turner Falls Senic Lookout. The cache itself is in a hole hidden by a rock found in the side of the mountain. Sounds strange for Oklahoma? If your ever in the area visit Turner Falls which will almost put you into a cave by water. It is an amazing place to camp or spend the day. Last time I was there however I chipped the bone in my knee trying to move around the rocks while swimming.

On my way home from working in Rockford, IL. I master the correct method on moving in the cave right a way. But I still needed to stop and rest as my 50 year old bones can't stay in that position for very long. I wondered if I was in the correct area but I kept pushing in till I found it. On the way out the reason for the cache's name finally hit me. I'm going to log this find in the "Coin Quest" game. TN, left sig card and a sig pencil. TFTC

Had to go to southern Indiana to find the closest cave. Not only did I log a cave cache but also explored a very nice park with several caves in the park. I now have a reason to go back, for there are two other caches
In the park that I did not have the time to search for, next to caves. Thanks for the interesting requirement.

Enjoyed climbing up and into "bone cave", a shelter cave near this cache. It's full of flowstone formations covered with the soot of many campfires and has a wonderful view out the entrance.

I climbed over a mountain, literally, for this one. Was it necessary? No! Check your topo maps. Learned a good lesson.

This was a unique "cave" about 200 feet in--needed headlights, knee pads, and gloves and rats were always a possibility.

Hard to believe that our national security relied so heavily on unmanned rockets. I mentioned the coinquest game in my log.
