Arrggg! We set sails on a day when the skys were dark and murky. With a course set and with a weather-eye out we made our way through the landlubbers and scallywags that infest Kirkland. LAND HO we cried when the Waimea Brewery was on the horizon. Oh there be plenty of plunderin' and swappin' of doubloons and thriploons this night. We drank our fill and let coins drip through our fingers like they were grains of sand. Arggg, a night of merry men and lusty women (you know who you were). It warms a pirate's cold black heart.

What a fun day! This was my first tournament-type geocaching event but it won't be my last. I loved learning about Gardner and met some really nice folks behind the counters of establishments that I visited. And I even won a prize! Since this is the only event I could possibly attend before 12/10, I made sure not to miss it. It was at a CiCi's Pizza, which is one of those all you can eat joints. It sure hit the spot after a full day of caching... I of course took a break at a nearby tavern from 4:30 until the event began to watch most of the Penn State game. They won and are now in one of the BCS bowl games, woo-hoo!

We attended a great event in Bremen (ca. 390 km away from Berlin) with about 50 other cachers and had a lot of fun. Included was a tricky night cache with a 3-miles-walk to get the right appetite for a nice meal afterwards.
