First City on the Mississippi

Bemidji is the First City on the Mississippi River and this cache is done by one of our esteemed cachers from this area. They do a great job at hiding and placing caches and we are very grateful for their enthusiasm. The Mississippi flows north from the headwaters for 65 miles and flows into Lake Bemidji and turns south and continues on down to New Orleans. At the headwaters you can actually cross the river on the rocks that goes across or the log that is maybe 30 feet long. It is a beautiful place to come and see. |

MiGiZi Trail:A Chip off the old Block

This cache is located in the Chippewa National Forest on the MiGiZi Trail. Migizi means eagle in Ojibwe and there is a good chance that you may see one around here. The trail is a walking and biking and there good forest roads that you can drive on also. Right now the Tamarack pines are a beautiful golden color and they are the only pines to loose their needles. |
