I really enjoyed the game. It encourages caching in different venues. It was especially a challenge for me as I was limiting myself to doing multi-caches, (except for the revisits), so that I could work towards my 1000 milestone goal of 200 multis, 100 unknowns and 700 spread amongst the other types. Happy to come 2nd in MA when I was competing with Mr. Dulicitous, himself. Congrats L.C.

I saved the best cache for the last entry. When you do caches like this with your friends, it makes you certain about why you Geocache...It was truly an awesome way to spend the evening and the most fun of all the requirements. There was fright (Where are you all?), excitement (all the time), empathy (for Koneko (wdp) who bled for us all), intrigue (spoofing those seeking what we had found) and even a bit of romance. This was after a car ride that ended like a chinese fire drill. It was a blast and even better, we had someone with us recording it all. Thanks to everyone present- it was real team effort and now The Nightstalkers have been born. Watch for us under the skies at night.

Back On Bunker Hill |

Made a re-visit to another FTF, Bunker Hill, one of the landmarks used by mariners approaching the port of Boston. Rich in history, this hill was the site of many Revolutionary War battles. The colonists opposed the British tax on tea. This defiance resulted in the seaports occupation. After fierce fighting, the British retreated and finally evacuated the harbor.

Enjoyable puzzle involving math, history and mapping. It had been on my "to do" list since its creation, it's complexity kept me from solving it until I thought, "Why not give it a try for the Hermit Quest !"

A revisit to a FTF, signing again in the 12th spot, for the HQG game. Closeby this cache, you can
find EMS-Burlington, where I have purchased a lot of my geocaching tools and have always received good
service from knowledgable people.

Callahan Extreme |

This trek was extraordinary- when I finished, my gps had recorded a track of over 5.09 miles. I combined Callahan Extreme with a sidetrip to The Big (Former) 'X' Marks the Spot (GC3C8F) which more than doubled the trip. With sunny skies and springtime 60's, this was awesome, traveling through remote areas of the state park. Dropped my BR95 Not another Micro Geocoin (TBTRHP) in the cache.

Despite what the cachepage states, this cache is indeed "proximate" to the highway- MA Route 85 and immediately into Interstate 290, heading southwest towards I-90 via I-495. If you figure out how to get to the first waypoint, part of the challenge, there is no dangerous or illegal activity involved. A really fun adventure.

Would you dare to enter these gates. Once you enter, you will find that most of the others, that entered before you, never left. The cache was very well designed, but as I said in my log, "I won't be moving in any time soon!!"

Sometimes, no matter how hard one looks, the trail only becomes evident after you head in from the "back door". I bushwhacked through the compost area and kept veering away to avoid the wetlands only to find the trail began 200 feet from where I parked. I wondered ??, I didn't see a sign and I don't think there was one. Ah! Well, I got to fully explore the area and got three times the exercise than if I did it the simpler way.

I had been planning for over a week to learn about this bit of history. It was a "bonus" when I
realized that the coordinates fit both the numbers requirement and was another multi towards my #1000

There were two bridges to cross along the abandoned trolley railway. One crossed over the wetlands;
but the more interesting one was the bridge supporting the trolley tracks(now removed) over the cow
crossing. Codswallop and I explored and photographed this remnant which had enabled the cows to roam
freely between the pastures while they were grazing.

This cache borders the beautiful Lincoln Meadows. In addition to the community gardens, there is a lot of pasture and lots of cows graze here. The trail to the cache winds up hill and make a loop around through the pine forest. Atop the hill, one can find a field with an open fire pit and a memorial bench where one could gaze at the view of the scenery below. I was also able to log the nearby letterbox. See the link below for details: http://www.letterboxing.org/BoxView.php?boxnum=17376&boxname=Round%20Hill%20Letterbox

This cache could meet many of the other requirements but it most assuredly is next to a large body of water. The old addage: "You can't get there from here" applies between the waypoints. You can if you are a fish, duck or bird, but I am not any of these so it was more than 2 mile round trip.

Found this cache in a well-developed trail system. The Osprey nests could be seen but they were not yet inhabited for the season. The birds were singing and I will certainly be back soon with my binoculars.
