4/16/2006 5:56:58 PM G-T-P GCN1Z3 G-T-P stands for Gates Town Park which was a new park under development with only rudimentary trails in the swamps. The problem was choosing the right way into the cache to stay high and dry. Managed to locate this one but did go the wrong way (of course!).
4/15/2006 4:50:50 AM "East Bay Micro" GCVBB9 This was such a beautiful spot that once the cache was found we enjoyed a geosnack here before continuing on. Saw 3 large swans swimming around out in the bay as well as many fishermen trying out their luck.
4/14/2006 4:49:36 AM Cache Me If You Can GCMT4M Well this cache has been a challenge. You needed a special key to unlock the ammo box but the key went from cache to cache. Tracked it for a while before I was able to grab the key. The parking location for this cache was at a popular watering hole called "The Wishing Well." Just what one needed after work on a day in the low 70's.
4/12/2006 4:37:51 AM Spring Time cache GCJE4E It's a good thing that I was able to locate this one now before all the foliage came out. Had tried this one during the winter and just had to give up searching. Well this time it still took about 30 minutes through all the brush, fallen trees and debris but finally became triumphant.
4/11/2006 4:13:16 AM HF1- View the Falls GCV0PE This cache provided a scenic view from a small park in the middle of the village of Honeoye Falls. The morning was crisp, the water cascading over the rocks and the robins were busy at work building a nest in the nearby cedars. Just a perfect way to relax and was glad that I took the time to do so.
4/9/2006 8:10:46 PM Rochester International Travel Bug Terminal GCKTDN Replaced the log book and added 5 new Travel Bugs to this cache this afternoon.
4/8/2006 5:47:03 AM Beaver Lookout GCV3ME This was a nice area in the Mendon Ponds Park that I had never been to before. The beaver had made a dam on the south end of Quaker Pond and the Canadian geese abounded here this morning. A great site to behold as the flock decided to take flight.
4/7/2006 5:28:18 AM Chile's Peppers: Perinton West GCMPBZ Did 8 caches in this massive park today. Walked to each one instead of driving around. It was extremely hilly here but a beautiful day to be out and about.
4/6/2006 3:52:56 AM Genesee Country Museum GCQBNF Had tried this one once before but came up empty handed. Now that there wasn't any snow on the ground I did manage to find the cache. Had business at the Museum and was able to take a tour of the grounds once again and view the buildings of days gone by. Another one has been moved here since the my last visit and I can't wait to see it opened.
4/4/2006 7:55:51 PM Tillman Rd GCD630 Couldn't believe the amount of geese that were here. They were in the roadway and didn't want to move to allow me access. Saw ducks as well and just before the cache site I kicked up a white tail. Quite muddy around here right now, thank goodness for all the trail bridges and walkways.
4/3/2006 7:33:53 PM Over The River, And Through The Woods GCN3ZG Fisherman abounded today as opening of fishing season has begun. The cache was an easy spot from about 30 feet away. Logged very carefully as so not to be noticed.
4/2/2006 5:43:59 PM I'm Not Puzzled GCRA55 Had figured out this puzzle quite some time ago but never had the opportunity to be in this area until today. Found it with no problem but a father and son were close to the cache site. They showed interest in what I was doing so explained geocaching to them. The little boy them went with me on the find and saw all the stash in the ammo box. He wanted a little car that was in it so I traded an item for him. He went away happy as a lark and so did I. Future geocacher? Maybe?
3/31/2006 6:41:09 PM To Bee or Not To Bee GCQ0WQ This one was a long one. The multi had 3 waypoints, each with a different question and 2 answers to choose from. Each answer took you to a different location, choose wrong and you had to do the other answer. So 6 points took you over 5 miles around a walking park in Williamsville. A beautiful sunny March afternoon in the 60's with a lot of joggers out.
3/30/2006 6:16:32 PM Royalton Ravine GC8199
This was a 2 hour extravaganza in the wilderness. The red winged blackbirds were abundant and the chickadees followed me as I trekked through the woods to reach the ravine and the waterfalls. What a beautiful march morning hike. took the suspension bridge on the way out but waded through the creek on the way in. Weather was brisk but exilerating.
