final code phrase to solve for Coin Quest

Postby tumbleweed2 on Fri Dec 07, 2007 7:20 pm

I have translated the codes on all 4 sides of the Coin Quest treasure map, figured out the answer to the puzzle question, logged all the caches and have the decoder grid in the lower right square of the map, but I can't find any code phrase to use it on to decode anything. I have tried to scrutinize the map more closely, since there seem to be very tiny words faintly printed there, but neither my computer screen, nor my printer will produce anything large enough for me to tell what the letters are, neither the printed font nor the script letters. I am at a srandstill on finishing this cache and grabbing the loot. I tried entering the riddle answer as the code phrase, in various spellings and number of words to the phrase, but nothing seems to solve it yet. Any hints?

There is an example at the side of the grid and at the top - match this example to the same image on your map and see if that helps. If you still need a bit more of a hint, please let us know!!

Glad to see you're enjoying the games!! Thanks for playing!

The grid is on the last map piece - do you have your final piece yet? If not, then that may explain the confusion...if you do have the final piece, let us know and we'll give you a better hint

Finally cracked the final code

Postby tumbleweed2 on Tue Dec 11, 2007 6:51 pm

I have had all the map pieces and decoded everything that I could determine was a code, for over a week, and was just about ready to ask for another hint, when I took one final look. And voilá! There it was, plain as day! Thanks for another fun game.

I am at the same spot with the Hermit's Quest, and think I have figured out what I need to do to finish off that one, ...........maybe.

Yes, I have the final piece. It has the 5x5 alpha grid, I have cut it out and can't match it to anything. I deciphered the morse code and the pigpen cipher and tried several variation of the answers but haven't hit the right one.

final code, coin quest

If the moderator doesn't get back to you soon with a hint on decoding the grid, let me know and I'll give you the same one he gave me. Took me almost a week after that to figure it out though. tumbleweed2 kaydivine1@hotmail.com

Oh mighty one - it would appear that after completing the final cache requirement two years ago and stumbling backwards and forwards to solve the final part it is now time to ask for help!!! We have the map and have cut out the grid and tried to match it - matched it and still nothing - a helping hand in the right direction would be most appreciated at this trying time - please!! :?
