Treasure map keywords & code breaking

My 10 year old nephew and I just started playing the game yesterday. We got our first piece of the puzzle after logging a cache for stop 4 - Bratislava. We have been searching the piece for a keyword without any luck. Perhaps we are trying to solve the wrong journal entry. We have been trying to solve entry 4 since that matches up with Bratislava, but are we supposed to be trying to solve #1 since it is the first map piece? Any help is appreciated.
